Notes (for DAY) :
  1. Calculated for 12 Kts. River Speed Drafts to be reduced 0.1mtr. for every knot below 12 kts. Category : A: Over 210mts. OAL . B: 180 upto 210mts. C: Below 180mts.

  1. Pilot Embarkation at Middleton Channel Time to be confirmed from pilot station.

  2. Masters must procure River Hugli Estuary navigation charts to their Agents from HMR/MMOH.

  3. Inward ships should report their ETA Sandheads to Pilot Station   and ask for pilotage instructions between ECLV (2104N,881112E) and Gasper Channel before proceeding up. Assistance is available from VTMS station Haldia on VHF Ch. 16/68 above lower  Light Vessel (212154N, 880930E).

  4. Forcast applicable for Haldia Dock & HOJ subject to alteration.

  5. Mooring rope requirements  :

    A) HOJ1 - 5 + 3 + 3 FOR'D 3+3+5 AFT & HOJ2/3 - 4 + 4 + 3. FOR'D 3+4+4 AFT

    B) Each rope should be a separate coil. No. doubling up of ropes is permitted.

     

  6. Inward vessels awaiting pilots to anchor at sand heads, keeping clear of shipping lanes.

  7. Restrictions are likely to be imposed on LOA/draft  at HOJ1  due variations in soundings, Acceptence of vessels at HOJ1 may be confirmed in advance from MMOH.

  8. Soundings based on Jellingham 4.0 & Auckland Bar 4.1 mts.

  9. IT IS COMPULSORY FOR MASTERS TO PROCURE ESTUARY RIVER CHARTS THROUGH THEIR AGENTS FOR THE SAFETY OF THEIR VESSELS.

  10. As their is no anchorage between Sagar and Haldia all vessels to ensure that their engines, steering etc. are in good working order.

  11. All vessels are required to have two serviceable bower anchors for safe transit.

(for NIGHT) :

INWARD SHIPS AT NIGHT :

  1. For Haldia Docks- up to 230 mtrs. LOA and maximum draft up to 8.5 mtrs.

  2. For No. 1 Haldia Oil Jetty - up to 135mtrs. LOA and draft up to 6.5 mtrs.

  3. IT IS EXPECTED VESSELS WILL BE FULLY EQUIPPED WITH SUITABLE RADARS etc. for barthing at Night.

  4. IT IS COMPULSORY FOR MASTERS TO PROCURE ESTUARY RIVER CHARTS THROUGH THEIR AGENTS FOR THE SAFETY OF THEIR VESSELS.

  5. Night draft apply to tides available between Sunset on that day and Sunrise the following day.

  6. As there is no anchorage between sagar and haldia all vessels to ensure that their engines, steering etc. are in good working order.

  7. Pilot embarkation at Middleton Channel.
