Kolkata Port Trust Requires
Dy. Chief Engineer
Applications are invited from Indian Nationals employed under any Port Authority in India, the Central Govt., a State Govt. or any local authority, statutory undertakings, public sector undertakings or any other Govt. companies as defined in Section 617 of the Companies Act, 1956 ( 1 of 1956) or institutions receiving grants from Govt. through proper channel for filling up the post of Dy. Chief Engineer in Civil Engineering Department of Kolkata Port Trust by deputation for a period of 2 years. The post of Dy. Chief Engineer is in the rank of class-I officer in the pay scale of Rs. 16,000-20,800/- and the incumbent is responsible to the Chief Engineer, for construction, maintenance of Civil Engineering works under the jurisdiction of Kolkata Port Trust.
Qualification and Experience
Essential
i) Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
ii) Corporate Membership of an approved engineering institution.
iii) 15 years’ experience in Civil Engineering works in an executive position of which 10 years must be in Port and Harbour Engineering.
Pay & Allowances
In addition to pay in the above scale incumbent will be entitled to HRA, CCA, etc, and the total emolument at the beginning of the scale would be Rs. 29,440/- approx. per month. The incumbent will also be entitled to LTC, Leave Encashment, Gratuity, Non-Contributory PF and Medical coverage for him and dependent family members. Free quarters will be provided by KoPT.
Mode of Application
The application containing detailed bio-data including name, date of birth, permanent address, address for communication, nationality , religion, details of educational and professional qualification, details of experience and post held (indicating name of the employer and pay scale), salary drawn and the present pay scale, whether SC/ST/OBC, extra curricular activities or any other relevant information with two recent passport size photographs along with confidential report for last five years of the officers, who can be spared in the event of their selection should reach through proper channel in sealed envelop superscribed “ Application for the post of Dy. Chief Engineer, Kolkata Port Trust” to the Secretary, Kolkata Port Trust, 15, Strand Road, Kolkata- 700 001 by 30th September, 2005. The authority forwarding the application is requested to verify that the application is in order. Application received without the certificate prescribed in the proforma by the forwarding authority will not be considered.
CERTIFICATE
(To be filled by the Authority forwarding the application)
i) Certified that the candidate is presently working in Govt./ Semi Govt. Department/ Public Sector Undertaking or Autonomous Body.
ii) Pay Scale of the candidate along with designation for last 5 years is ……..
iii) Certified that the particulars furnished by the candidates has been checked from available records and found correct.
iv) Certified that candidate is eligible as per eligibility criterion mentioned for the post and can be spared in case of selection.
v) No vigilance and disciplinary case is either pending or being contemplated against the candidate. There is nothing in the ACR dossier of the candidate which makes him ineligible for consideration for appointment to the post applied for.
vi) Attested copies of ACR for last 5 years of the candidate are enclosed.
