N O T I C E
Sub: Flooding of Docks / Street of the city of Kolkata in the year 2010.
During the “Depression months” of August September and October, soon after depression crosses the coast, there may be tidal surge of more than 1 mtr. in the Hooghly River. If this happens during the “Spring Tide”, tides may rise above 7.0 mtrs. causing flooding of Docks / Streets of the city.
Such flooding may occur on the following dates:
10.08.10 to 14.08.10 normal rise of high water 6.86 mtrs.
08.09.10 to 11.09.10 “ “ “ “ 6.88 mtrs.
08.10.10 to 10.10.10 “ “ “ “ 6.66 mtrs.
All concerned are hereby advised to take adequate precaution to minimize the cargo / machinery damage caused by Excessive High Tide during the said period.
