Amendments of Scale of Rates

  Annexure - I

In exercise of the powers conferred by Clause (xx) of General Principles of Assessment under S.3 of KoPT’s Scale of Rates notified by Tariff Authority for Major Ports, which is effective from 8.3.2007, the Board of Trustees’ of Kolkata Port Trust in its meetings held thereafter has approved charging of lower rates and/or allowing of higher rebates and discounts/rationalization of the prescribed conditionalities governing the application of rates prescribed in the Scale of Rates in respect of the followings: -

S. 23.10 

i) Shifting of a container ship from a MHC berth to a non-MHC berth due to breakdown of MHC

 

ii) Shifting of a container ship from a non-CPY berth to a CPY berth for taking exports aggregated at CPY.

 

Shiftings are chargeable under Section 23.10

Treated as shifting of a vessels for “Port Convenience” under the heading “Port  Convenience for the above purpose shall mean”  in Section 23.10 as item. no.(xii) and (xiii) respectively.

Important Board decisions in connection with facilitating handling of cargo/vessels in KoPT during the year 2007-08

 

 

1)

For commodities stored on the top floors of the sheds in KPD-II and N S Dock

-

50% waiver on the storage rent applicable for the ground will be allowed where monthly licencing scheme for storage has been applied – Reso. No. 137 dated 30.8.07

2)

For vehicles entering newly developed KoPT Truck Terminal at the south of Subhas Bhavan

-

Parking fee @ Rs. 28/- per vehicle for a day or part of the day will have to be paid - Reso. No. 138 dated 30.8.07.

3)

Conversion of captive jetty of M/s. Merlin Vinimay Pvt. Ltd.(MVPL) at Budge Budge as common users jetties. 

-

Conversion approved with the decision that the following conditions have to be complied in all cases of such conversion –

 

a)

In case there is any spare/unutilized/under utilized capacity at any Board approved jetty and if any other party is desirous of exporting any cargo from the jetty, the KoPT shall be at liberty to assign such parties to the jetty originally approved for some other Agency to operate provided the latter shall allow such parties to use their jetty for export of any cargo by such parties.

b)

In all such cases, the documents are to be submitted in the name of the actual exporting parties and the KoPT charges payable for the purpose, shall also be realized from such exporting parties directly.
